Highlands Source Water Pipeline

The Highlands Source Project is a major initiative designed to secure Goulburn’s water – even during severe drought. It will see Goulburn linked to the Sydney Catchment Authority’s water supply at Wingecarribee Reservoir via approximately 80 km of underground pipeline.
LandTeam surveyors have initially been involved in preparation of acquisition easement plans for some 30 km of the pipeline route. This work involved MGA control establishment by GNSS and route surveys with boundary definition at each change in ownership. The plans were prepared and registered to meet the project requirements for commencement of construction and fencing of the construction corridor. This work was carried out for Goulburn Mulwaree Council.
Construction of the pipeline commenced with route corridor fencing in February 2011 with pipeline trenching and laying underway in early March 2011. Leed Engineering and Construction have employed the surveying services of LandTeam for centreline and fence corridor setout, service location, river and road crossing detail, work-as-constructed surveys and general survey requirements. This work is largely carried out using GNSS technology with both base/rover setup and CORRS infrastructure.

    Stockland Shellharbour Upgrade

Stockland Shellharbour Shellharbour Shellharbour Highland Market Place

LandTeam are pleased to be offering surveying assistance to both Brookfield Multiplex and Ward Civil on the $330 million dollar redevelopment of Stockland Shellharbour.
Work on the site has commenced and all going to plan, the project could be finished by Christmas 2013
The redevelopment will almost double the size of the existing centre and creating the only major regional shopping centre between Miranda, Campbelltown and Canberra. The redeveloped centre will include a Myer department store, two supermarkets, 220 speciality stores, over 3,000 car parking spaces, becoming the Illawarra’s premier shopping destination.

    Veolia Woodlawn Bioreactor, Tarago

    Veolia Veolia VeoliaVeolia

Veolia took possession of the disused Woodlawn open cut mine at Tarago around 2000 with approval for the disposal of domestic waste into the mine void.
The waste is transported by rail from Sydney to Tarago, and then via trucks to the bioreactor site outside Tarago. The mine void has a life of about 25 years. Currently the final phase of the methane gas extraction system is being completed and the harvested energy will be put into the NSW power grid.
The bioreactor contributes to the Goulburn Mulwaree local community with $1,000,000 a year donated to a trust which then constructs much needed community facilities.
LandTeam (Kells) has been involved as a consultant with Veolia from the beginning of this project. Beginning with land acquisition surveys through to the current monthly ‘void wall’ monitoring Kells have been responsible for a broad range of allied projects including

    • Detail survey for rail intermodal site at Tarago
    • Land subdivision and lease surveys of railway and private land
    • Detail surveys of Bungendore & Collector roads for road improvements for the additional truck traffic
    • Establish survey control at Woodlawn mine site to AHD & MGA
    • Evaporation dam volume surveys
    • Monthly void wall monitoring surveys
    • Bi yearly waste volume reports for EPA
    • OH & S management and reporting
    • Engineering design for ever changing haul roads
    • Laser scan detail survey
    • Update detail surveys & engineering design

    Ravensworth Heights Estate, Goulburn

    AV jenningsAV jennings

The Ravensworth Heights Estate is a residential development by AV Jennings which is located in the Marys Mount land release area in Goulburn. Landteam are providing surveying, engineering and project management services to AV Jennings for the rollout of over 200 new residential lots and associated housing. LandTeam have worked closely with AV Jennings and Goulburn Mulwaree Council to plan and roll-out the subdivision and integrated housing in such a way as to allow the construction of suitable house and land packages to suit the requirements of home buyers in the area. Varying lot sizes and house styles are included within the development. LandTeam have been responsible for the installation of all roads, drainage and infrastructure within the development including the installation of optic fiber by the National Broadband Network to service the majority of dwellings within the development (a first for Goulburn). LandTeam are well placed to manage the survey responsibilities of this project as they had been involved with the development of approximately 300 lots in the Marys Mount area prior to undertaking the AV Jennings work.

Goodmans were proud winners of the 2007 Cadastral Surveying Category in the NSW Award for Excellence in Surveying and Spatial information for their work on Tullimbar Village.

Appointed in 2004 as survey consultants to the project, Goodmans recognised that ‘excellence in surveying’ would be required to meet the demands of a project that required survey applications not common with previous regional practise. Indeed many of the initiatives involved a ‘first time’ approach by Shellharbour City Council and the developer, Miltonbrook.

Tullimbar Village is an exciting new town being built on the south coast of N.S.W. that is setting the standard for new development in Australia.

The design is based on traditional village life, with a focus on its compact town centre, an easy 5-minute walk for most residents using the interconnected system of footpaths.

The vibrant town centre will be home to shops, cafes, taverns, and a supermarket as well as numerous public buildings such as the bell tower, town hall, cricket/football oval, pavilion and church.

Tullimbar's architecture draws heavily from that of traditional south coast towns such as Kiama and Berry.

Of critical importance to Goodmans was to ensure that the 12 year vision of Tullimbar development was in no way compromised in a survey sense in the lead up[ to its successful stage one launch in September 2006.

The Tallawara Power Station being developed by TRUenergy, is a new high tech 400 MW gas turbine combined cycle power plant which will replace a coal fired plant which previously occupied the site and which closed in 1989. Classified as a major project under the ‘Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1975’ it has been subject to strict guidelines at all levels of its development.

Situated on the environmentally sensitive shores of Lake Illawarra the first stage of the project will supply enough power to supply 200,000 homes and businesses.

LandTeam in surveying the site faced numerous challenges and were required to develop new knowledge to complete the initial phase of the project with such tasks as the surveying requirements of gas pipeline construction. Their work on the development earned a Highly Commended Award in the Infrastructure and Construction Category of the 2008 NSW Awards for Excellence in Surveying and Spatial information.

When complete, the Tallawarra Power Station will be Australia’s most environmentally efficient fossil fuel fired power station, producing 70 percent less carbon dioxide emissions than many, traditional coal fired, power stations.
